The minute holes created by the Wood Borer from where the yellowish powder falls, is the sign of infestation. They can develop their colony inside the wooden structure & able to complete 4 to 5 generations. They infest the internal structure of wooden material and convert it into powder form. Depending on favorable conditions like moisture level, temperature they can infest to other adjacent furniture as the powder post betel can fly from one place to another.
CONTROL MEASURES-A suitable insecticide is injected into the shot holes made by the insects in the woodwork supplemented with a thorough application of the insecticide to all the exposed surfaces of the infested wood.
